Indulge me while I update the two of you on what's going on in different parts of my life:
Keepher, my dog/best friend: Doing well, enjoying walks, avoided being kidnapped by the ex twice now, and is happy and content.
My single life: Wow. After some of the sappy posts I made while with someone, (some of which didn't contain all of the reality at the time, since my ex read my blog), I am so much happier now being single. I'm not against another relationship (you know who you are, sexy) but for now, being happy being me.
Work: Going well again. And just recently applied for a big promotion, and found out that my proposal (which we had to write to be considered for an interview) was a big hit, and the interview is soon. It would be the kind of promotion that would make me consider staying with the company for a long time, whereas now, I think another year will max my patience out. I'll keep you posted, but it was nice getting some positive feedback for a change.
Home: I miss my brother (who lived here for 6 months or so), but I'm glad he's happy in California. Still considering moving there and getting a place together, depending on the job situation, and how he likes it there. Keepher is happy here, and it's a really good location. Close to the city (while not IN The city) and close to jumping on the interstate, to get to work, or pretty much wherever I want to go.
Family: reconnected with lots of family lately via facebook. While no big revelations or discussions have been had, it's good to see people are doing well.
Friends: Still working on getting some new friends. Or developing semi-friends into real friends. I have a few good ones though, and some good potentials, so all is well.
Ok, enough real posts, promise my next one will be funny or sarcastic, or just the usual Bobby non-sense.

Complaining doesn't always get you stuff....
I know a lot of people live by the theory that if they complain enough, and loudly enough, they will get what they want.
Last night, a woman tried it at my work a few minutes before i left. She was yelling, holding up other customers, etc. to get what she wanted.
Me, I have fun with this sort of thing. So after interjecting myself into the situation, she asked to see the policy i was referring to.
I replied, "I'm paid to the the policy. I don't need to go print it out for you."
She kept on, so I asked her to leave. Even more fun, I took the items she was trying to buy off the counter and said she wouldn't be getting those either, on top of the items she was trying to yell about.
She said she wasn't leaving so I told her she was now trespassing, and I would call the police. Most people fall for this as i start dialing my own cell phone number and acting like it was the police.
She did calm down though. She did leave. And she didn't get what she wanted.
That made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Everyone loves... uh. sporting goods?
Strolling down memory lane.....
MY ex and I stressed to figure out one year what to give his dad for his birthday. His dad had made mention, as good parents will, that he wanted some stuff at Dick's Sporting Goods. He wouldn't mention what stuff, hence, hinting for a gift certificate.
We were more than happy to oblige. I am a big fan of gift certificates, despite people saying they are sentimental enough. I have enough sentiment in my life, give me more gift certificates dammit.
Anyway, back to the stroll.....
At his dad's birthday party, his dad opens gift number two, not from us, and gets, a gift certificate from Dick's Sporting Goods. My ex and I look at each other with a "oh well, great minds think alike" look.
Gift number 4 is, yep, a gift certificate for Dick's sporting goods. My ex and I think, great, now we're going to look really original, and why oh why didn't we get him to open our card first. At least we got him a card, the other two gift cards were just in a little Dick's sporting goods envelope. We rock.
X-Dad, mentions that he can use both certificates to buy something better now.
So, gift number six, us, he opens the card, reads it, and announces he got another gift certificate to Dick's Sporting Goods. My ex, ever so lame, apologizes, but X-Dad, being awesome, looks sincerely at the both of us, and says,
"That's okay, because you can NEVER get enough Dick's."
Wow. We didn't laugh. At least right then. But we laughed for weeks. And quoted him for weeks. Because, know it or not, it was the best thing a dad could ever have said to his gay son and partner.
And you know what? You really can't ever get enough Dick's.

A bit egotistical, perhaps?
Is it a little self indulgent to read some of your old posts? Seriously, I was looking for some of my old friends that used to be around and comment, and a lot of them have moved on, closed down shop, or just left their blogs at a standstill.
Then I started actually READING some of my old posts and comments. Some of you are funny as hell with your comments.
Back when the thing went around where you were supposed to type your name into google with "Needs" after it, and google would tell you what you needed, I found a list I had done. But one, just one, actually made me laugh out loud.
Bobby's needs are pretty basic: He sleeps, eats, cries, poops, and gazes uncomprehendingly at the world around him. If you edited "eats" to "eats and drinks bourbon", that would be the name of my autobiography. I know it's a long title, but it has a certain ring to it.
It may still end up being the name of my autobiography. I just need one or two more life altering, adventure filled, celebrity enhanced events to happen to me and I've got enough for a book.
Back the my question though, I think it is refreshing to read your old posts, it can remind you of good times, bads times, things you've forgotten, and it can also show you much your writing has improved, or deteriorated in some cases. In a few weeks, when we end up moving to a place here in town, I may be without internet access, but in the meantime, while job hunting, house hunting, and building a website for Justin's boss (I'm getting paid for it, dont worry), I will try to crank out some stuff of interest.
