Give me my money.

It's never easy, is it? I have been waiting for money for my unemployment, and waiting, and finally found out it went to a card from years ago when I was laid off from Circuit City. So, of course I had to ask for a replacement card. And the bank had all of my old info, and didn't believe I was me at first.

I think I just have a problem with banks in general. Remember the bank who wouldn't cash my check because it had my nickname on it? No? That's okay, I forgive you.

So, now, a month and a half into my quest for a new job, I still have received no money. They owe me a month of pay at this point, and I haven't seen a penny. It's on the way though, at least some of it is. Monday at the latest after I paid a fee to expedite my card.

I think I will just start hiding cash under my bed or something. Well, obviously not there now that I told you, but cash will be king in the future. And I shall be it's queen. Wait, that didn't come out right at all, but you get the picture.

Huh. What should I do?

My ex, wants to be facebook friends after two years of being apart. Two years of no apologies for the shit I was put through.

I'm not sure if I should do it.

Or maybe this is just considered "moving on"?

Argh.

Complaining doesn't always get you stuff....

I know a lot of people live by the theory that if they complain enough, and loudly enough, they will get what they want.

Last night, a woman tried it at my work a few minutes before i left. She was yelling, holding up other customers, etc. to get what she wanted.

Me, I have fun with this sort of thing. So after interjecting myself into the situation, she asked to see the policy i was referring to.

I replied, "I'm paid to the the policy. I don't need to go print it out for you."

She kept on, so I asked her to leave. Even more fun, I took the items she was trying to buy off the counter and said she wouldn't be getting those either, on top of the items she was trying to yell about.

She said she wasn't leaving so I told her she was now trespassing, and I would call the police. Most people fall for this as i start dialing my own cell phone number and acting like it was the police.

She did calm down though. She did leave. And she didn't get what she wanted.

That made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Everything Bytes

A post of total randomness that may get tied together at the end, or may not.

1. I frickin love my iphone. I will never be bored at Dmv, or anywhere again. Everyone should get one, now. Thanks.

2. Work is okay except my new manager doesn't like giving us our two days off in a row. So my days off are random, and never together. And my day off tomorrow consists of a two hour meeting right in the middle of being off. Seriously disrupting my drinking time.

3. You never know how much you love hot water until you don't have it. Co0ld showers suck. And no matter how much you try to grin and bear it, ice cold water is painful.

4. Apartment hunting with "questionable" credit is difficuly. Thanks to my ex for helping assist me in ruining my credit.

5. Thank you life for letting me get a new number when I got my iphone, as my ex now no longer has my number. Peace and quiet at last.

6. People are in general stupid. No story, just that.

7. Stopping on number seven. I have some OCD and hate odd numbers, (I can't stop reading a book on an odd numbered page, don't ask...) but seven is okay. I think because my birthday is on the seventh.

h. Yes, h. Because I hate formality and rules.

i. More later, meeting a casting director from the real world. No, not auditioning, apparently I am slightly older than their age limit. Just to chat.

nicknames

Ok, i understand if you are going to fly on a plane, your name on your i.d. should match the name on the ticket. Fine. that's all good. However, things have gotten a little out of hand...

First, if you look at my profile, you see my name is Bobby. You might then conclude that Bobby is not on my birth certificate, or id, it's probably Robert. Bobby, being short for Robert, as in Rob, Robby, Bob, Roberto, etc.

Well, to make things a little more difficult for the idiots in the world, Robert is actually my middle name, however, before you read the next paragraph and even start to feel sorry for the idiots mentioned, Robert IS listed on my id, fully.

So.... I went to cash a check from my aunt, who for thirty something years, has written me birthday and Christmas checks to "Bobby", since that's my name.

My bank, however, decided they can't deposit it, because it's not my name.

I explained that Bobby is a nickname, derived from Robert.

They kindly pointed out Robert is not my legal name.

I rudely pointed out that Robert is my legal MIDDLE name.

They then said that if Robert was my first name, that would be different.

Aha! A possible loophole, so I got a manager involved, and filled him in on the story thus far.

He let me know if Robert was my first name, they still wouldn't cash the check.

I asked if the check was made out to Rob, and Robert was my first name, would they cash it. They said no.

I have a hard time believing this.

So, I either have to alter the check to have my first name on it, or ask for a birthday/Christmas check to be rewritten, or give up on it all.

What do Bubba, Liz, Mike, Allie, Greg, etc. do with their checks? Oh yeah, they probably go to a better bank.

wow, huh?

So, if you've been paying attention, obviously Justin left me, but, uh, I kinda left him too. Left him behind and hopefully for a while, until I can get over my anger and he can mature.

All you men reading, skip to the next paragraph, if you do, there'a next naked woman waiting. So you women left, if you have a good man, lucky you. IF you don't, don't worry, men suck. And lie. And they're dogs. Ok, I'm done.

Sorry guys, the naked woman must not be loading, anyway, I have moved on, and trying to restart the independant life I had before going downhill.

Thanks for the word of encouragement, and prayers, I will post as much as I can as I go through restarting my life.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.....

Read the title of the post again. Very appropriate.

Here's the skinny.....

Ex is being an ass, threatening to take my dog and stealing my money, despite the fact that would leave me without rent, food, etc.

But things are changing as of next Friday or so....

While things haven't been great by any means, things are looking up now, and stay tuned for more info. Hope you are all well....

*SIGH*

Sorry i haven't said anything lately, life's sucked and I need to move on.

Nothing new, Justin and I are over, looking for a new job (a better job), and the car is dying, and close to not having any money at all.

*SIGH*

Life needs to get better before the holidays or I am REALLY going to be depressed......

For those who are tired of my whining.....

Please move on if you are tired of hearing of my whining about a job. And yes, I have now lowered my standards and I am looking for any job pretty much that pays something, but even those people say I am over qualified and won't stay.
Argh. I do have something in the works, something I am not sure I am qualified for, but that I convinced the hiring manager I was, so as soon as my background check clears (it will), I have a final interview in a few days. It is not the perfect job, but is actually the highest paying job I have applied for. (I am qualified for it, just haven't really done the exact job before.) It is a few more hours than I am used to, and it would mean being on call pretty much 24/7, but as the old saying goes, "It's always easier to find a job when you already have one." which is a pretty stupid saying if you ask me.
Otherwise, Justin was in and out of the hospital again, same issue, apparently what he had can become chronic after a while, or totally go away at any time, never to return.
Life is wonderful, life is great, I am going to get that job, or a job this week. I can't really write well right now, or write about some of the funny stuff going on, as I am consumed by jobs, job hunting, tweaking my resume, etc. but hopefully all of that will change soon.

Job Hunting sucks.....

I have a good resume. I have good experience. I'm outside of a major metropoloitan area. What's going on?

I've been on the other side of the hiring business as well, and I know people can get busy, and hiring isn't always the top priority. I also realize that you lose a lot of good people by not acting fast, because someone else will hire them. (Hint hint, people, I'll be snapped up soon, HIRE ME!)

Anway, Justin's working at least, and we have a lead on an apartment (the mayor's wife gave up the tip, we're hanging out with some classy people now.) I am starting my search for a not so great (re: crappy) job today, just to bring in some money while I continue to job hunt for a job I am used to and pays a little better.
And just so everyone knows, I did NOT move here because I am closer to cheap cigarettes and better bourbon (and cheaper). I have to keep re-stating this fact, and yes, I have probably smoked more and definately drank more since I have been here, but it's a pure coincidence. Promise.

Tick Tock....

Justin is out of the hospital and feeling better, not perfect, but better.

So, how hard is it to find a place to live in 48 hours, and oh yeah, a job?

I am guessing pretty hard, but still going to try.

Tomorrow may be my last chance to post for a while, but we'll see. Thanks for the emails and comments, it's good to know you are all still out there, and hopefully doing better than we are.

Life is a highway....

MY last post ended with....

Life is an adventure, and I am riding it along right now.....

Now, Justin and I are coasting. The deadline(s) are looming, and oh, did I mention Justin ended up hospitalized Friday evening, and is still there now? Makes it a little hard to get jobs, look for a place, etc. (and keep an eye on the dog at my friend's house who is moving this weekend.)

Life is now not so much an adventure, but a scary ride where you aren't driving, you have no idea where you're being taken, and you feel shit out of luck.

He may be getting out tomorrow, but the doctor hasn't come today yet, so who knows....? I will try to keep you posted, at least until Friday where I lose my connect to the internet for a while again, maybe, who knows for sure?

I picked a lousy time to stop sniffing glue. Coming soon, plenty of info on the hospital as soon as he's out.

I'm not dead, really.

Ok, so yeah, I totally haven't been posting but really REALLY soon, I will. The cool thing is that some of you have see me without knowing it, on a news clip that made some decent headlines.

Like I told the reporter, "No Comment", but as soon as the trial (not about me) is over, I can comment all I want, heh heh.

Job Hunt Week 2

Ok, so it's really week 1, as during week 1 I really just browsed online, went to the placement service that got me my last job, and waited for my severance check to arrive.

However, I was motivated today as I found out my severance check isn't coming for two more weeks and the check for today (which will arrive in the mail who knows when?) is only for one week. Better than nothing, yes, but trust me, I have put some people off until today as today was supposed to be my "big check". My ex manager called to let me know I left some personal stuff behind, and I let her know they should have had someone better prepare the letters (oh, I don't know, someone thorough, competent, experienced, you know, like me) as the letter had numerous mistakes.

The biggest, in my favor, was that the letter made it seem like my health insurance ended on May 31, when in fact it ends June 30. I am thinking of being entirely reckless for the next two weeks so they have to foot the bill.

Anyway, I got my resume in, and now I am waiting for the calls to pour in, as I kick ass. (No, humility is not listed as a skill on my resume.)

I will keep you posted, all four of you who still stop by.... and I may try to update my link list I never finished.

Thanks for standing by.

The "new and improved" blogger totally doesn't work with my pc and software. I just found a way in, by logging into google first, then using a link to get here. But before, I could only post titles of posts, and then I found how to post text, but if I went to edit it, it disappeared.

And I still can't get pics to upload.

Thanks to those of you stopping by, I think I am just going to violate my "blogging at work" policy and post stuff from there.

Happy Easter, and if that doesn't apply to you, Happy Sunday.

(It was 80 degrees here three days ago, and this weekend we had snow. Crazy.)
